Our traditional President's-Day-Weekend-Backpacking-trip took us to the Blue Mountain Shelter
on the Pinhoti Trail in the Talledega National Forest in eastern Alabama.
The weekend was C-O-L-D, but we were prepared. Also, the abundance of biomass fuel (a.k.a "firewood")
in the forest helped us make a great fire to keep us warm.
We only had to exercise caution once or twice to avoid burning down the shelter!

made in the campsite.
